Treasurer
The treasurer manages the annual budget, oversees all financial transactions, and maintains the bank accounts. The treasurer provides an updated statement of expenses and revenue for the current year at each board meeting.
Communications
The communications chair monitors and maintains the VHMPA Forums, responds to member inquiries and enforces the E-blast Policy.
Community Outreach
The community outreach committee helps VHMPA members give back to the greater community. We conduct drives for goods, such as diapers and coats, that we distribute to local charities, and we facilitate sponsorship of needy families during the holidays.
Good Neighbor
The good neighbor committee works with the membership committee to help families when a first baby or child arrives, when any new member has a child or when a family experiences a crisis by bringing meals, arranging play-dates for kids, etc.
Marketing
The marketing activities include partnering with other VHM businesses, civic organizations, and schools to inform residents of the various resources of the VHMPA, as well as encourage the use of these resources among the membership.
Membership
The membership committee helps recruit and welcome new members, processes membership applications and renewals, and maintains the online membership database.
Newsletter
The newsletter is emailed to members monthly during the first week of the month. The newsletter includes information about new babies, new members, social events and committee updates. Members may advertise in the newsletter for a nominal fee.
Playgroups
Playgroups provide an opportunity for children to meet their peers on a regular basis and for parents to get to know other families with children of similar ages.
Reviews
The VHMPA reviews are a compilation of member recommendations on a multitude of topics, including handymen to family-friendly vacation spots. The reviews are an excellent resource and are available through BigTent.
Social
The social committee organizes social events throughout the year, including but not limited to backyard happy hours, movies at Midtown Arts Cinema, concerts in the park, cookie swaps, coffee and donuts in the park and ice cream socials.
Webmaster
The website committee is in charge of designing, developing and maintaining our website, including BigTent configuration and email management.
